Come to think of it, i've never ever seen a Sy or a Ty in person in my life and i've been down to the states qutie a bit too. I remember back when I was in kindergarden/grade one and reading one of the 1991/1992 motortrend magazines that had a feature on Sy/Ty, that feature made those two as my favorite trucks.

I've only ever seen one Typhoon, it was at the UofC a couple of years ago. I wouldn't have even given it a second glance if the front bumper hadn't been removed, leaving the intercooler for everyone to see. It was pretty cool sounding, too.

Sweet vehicles, for sure.

I was with a buddy one night a few years back, and he raced a Typhoon in his ITR... fast truck, very stealth looking... but my buddy cheated and beat him (Zex kit). After the run we pulled over and chatted for a bit... always wanted one after that, but I never saw myself as a truck kinda guy...

We can thank the cancellation of the W(?) bodies for these trucks. From what I remember reading, years ago GM phased out the W-body which included the famous Buick Grand National (aka GNX). They ended up with this awesome engine and nowhere it put it until someone thought of the Typhoon/Syclones. These are probably some of the few domestics that'd I'd like to own someday.

everybody is crazy about doing a 350 drop, i just dont get it, cause you can mod the shit out of a 4.3 and get way better results in that truck

Only makes sense if the 4.3 is an evolution of the 3.8 from said cars, could be I'm not familiar with those engines.

And there's a white Ty for sale in Sherwood Park for $18k only 93k km (though I thought these were all yankee and in Miles, probably just converted it aprox 58000mi) its on canadatrader.com

Not bad for a truck built in 1991.

Here is a Syclone Vs. Ferrari "Car and driver" article.

This article was the reason that I started learning everything that I could about these trucks.
