Just get some Kumho ecsta 712's, I doubt your daily driving requires anything better.

I cheeped out and bought some Dunlop sport a2's from canadian tire. They are a bit bigger then stock (205 compared to the 195) but they are a pretty good tire IMO, at 163 a pop for a student they better be.

I got some Aurora K103's....many people use these tires for autox....pretty good tires considering they were $99 a pop

I am currently using Yoko Paradas S2 for daily use (might change these next year), but at the track use BFG Comp TA

Worst tires ever made are the Khumos. Dont waste your money!!! Noisy and wear fast. Only thing they got going for theem is sticky and it dont last!

Get decent tires...Consider BFgoodrich Geforce series!

That's a pretty big generalization about Kumho tires. They are cheap to buy and they last. I have been using mine for the last year, without a problem. They arn't noisy till you're at the limit or beyond it. The tires are Kumho 711's.

If you want an affordable tire with decent performance Kumho 711/SPT is the way to go. 712 just got discountinued this year for the SPT. The Kumho MX is their best ZR rated street tire and it is used alot with great success in auto-x.

I've used so many different tires it's not funny. Working at a tire shop has it's advantages.

Dave, what size tires do you need for your wheels? I can hook you up if you're ever in Calgary.

I used to use Yokohama Parada Spec2's, bt the tire noise was driving me to suicide. Now CMSBob hooked me up with some Toyo Proxes 4's and I am happy, they grip lke a motherfucker and they are whisper quiet. :)

I used 712's this summer, good grip, low noise and they let you know well in advance of when they are letting go. Treadwear is a bitch but what so expect from 280 treadwear.

At less than 100 per tire for 205/50/15 I couldn't be happier.

for me, what ever is cheap. i go through tires in a matter of 3 months at the most.

Well whatever you get, you may want to stay away from champiro gt's....they don't stick worth shit. And they're probably the smelliest and smokiest tire evar! Probably good for drifting though, seeing as how they're only 140$ each for 235/40/17's.

yes, so i was also looking at the falken rt-615's aswell. heard nothing but good things about them. i only want two tires any way cuz all the rear tires are used ones that i can screw around on. i dont care about noise and crap. i just want something that is decent treadware and excellent grip. i was also thinking of the kumho supra's they looked pretty good on their site. more suggestions!! thanks finally to everyone that replied so far.

I wanna get a set of advan parada spec II for the sa3r's for next year, than I need to find some 15's for drifting. probably do the $30 deal at the shady shop by chinnok

Don't buy the Parada's, they're just tuner tires. They look good, but that's about it. Plus they're over priced.

For drifting, if you're into it, I'd recommend the rt615's. They'll grip like no tomorrow. They are apparently better in the rain now too.

Wouldn't you want a tire that doesn't stick for drifting....especially with an underpowered car like yours

you want your drifter tires to have some stick to them so you can bring um back properly i'm not running anything special just The Hankook Ventus HR II H405's they do the job and work well in the rain aswell

umm good to know before I go out an blow even more money.

I noticed with a good set of tires in the front and a ok pair in the back helped me break my back end out without having to over power the car to much.

my crappy tire predators on my steelies were awsome for that

Hahaha, your right. What I meant though, was to run them in the front and use some shitty one's in the back. Champiro's in the back would be ideal.

Aurora K103's weren't bad, and neither are Kumho 712s. Hardcore autoX's may have different opinions, but both of the above are cheap and good for the street.

Bridgestone potenza S-03's are awesome all around. Also like Continental's tires as well 235/40/18 front and 275/35/18 rears and still get great ride, noise, wet grip, and life from these

I need to replace my tires this summer too. Not sure where you can get them in Calgary, but I've been looking in to getting a set of hankook ventus v12 evos. Take a look at this review. I believe its a year or two old so a few of the tires may or may not still be in production
