88 toyota supra turbo targa
5speed
runs... sort of
aftermarket blue/purple paint
blue leather interior
fully loaded, alarm, keyless entry
250 xxx km
lots of recent work done to it.
has a problem overheating but i think the problem is a seized thermostat. im pretty sure its siezed shut and it is over heating right away. it was working fine for a long time but now it can only go one block with out over heating. the side mouldings are shaved off the car but the person who did it filled it with bondo and its just starting to fall out. the tires and wheels are in good shape and the interior is in good shape except the drives back seat. there is some rust starting to bubble but its not thro the paint yet.

that problem is your headgasket. is it a targa?

well there u go. then who ever wants it can buy it for 1800 and fix the headgasket and it will be running nice again. the only thing is its not leaking anything. i thought when ur head gasket went that the coolant leaked out but it dont burn oil and i never ferfil the coolant but like i said im not sure.

and yes it is targa and its loaded with every option it came with in 88 and all the options work.

I know this might sound obvious, but try replacing both of the rad caps (with new ones from Toyota). I've heard of guys with Supras and Turbo Celicas that thought the head gasket was blown (due to over-heating) took them into the dealer to be fixed and it turned out to be just faulty rad/overflow tank caps. It's worth a try, and might save you a bundle on your re-sale value!

i would but i really dont want the car. im trying to buy a newer 4 runner and i just need the money. but who ever buys it should try and maybe they will get a good car for cheap

That gen supra had tons of problems with headgasket failure. Luckily, the fix is cheap and, when done properly, is rather permanent.

Another way to confirm if its the head gasket is to check your antifreeze for signs of oil or murkiness (coolant mixing with the oil).

the rust is pretty minor becasue i took a pic of the side with the rust. its not tro the paint yet. the only biog problem is the bondo filling were the side mouldings were shaved ( i didnt do that) but one of my good friends brother is a body man and he says that it is really easly fixed if u put fiberglass in there and then repaint over top. said its not expensive either. plus u dont really need to do it if u dont want to. because the bondo doesnt really show as u can tell from the pic.

buy the way its not a sask car i only put that plate on becasue i needed to get domewhere on day. it is a alberta car. it was insured 1 month ago. it passed safety only a couple months ago
