Who's seen one, used one, heard anything about them??? They're used as OEM equipment on Porsches from what I understand ... do they work well? How much do they go for these days?

From what I can tell .. they're pretty cheap. Is $50 a good price to pay? If not, what is?

thanx!

I have a spare one at home. It's a cycling valve, not a blow off valve. And it doesn't hold boost too well, leaks around the 14psi range. It's made of plastic and rubber.

cycling valve? as in bypass valve?

if it leaks at 14psi I should be OK cause I'm only gonna be running 6psi to start with .. maybe 9psi or so after I'm confident the system is working good.

would you be willing to sell it? what would you sell it for? could it be used in a BOV setup?

I think they suck pretty bad. I bought one for 10 bux and it broke within a week of use. I got another one for free from a friend and it seemed to work ok but I'd go with something different.

There's a few different versions of the Bosche bypass valve. Most people buy the cheap plastic piston unit because they don't know about the others. The #110 is the best version of the Bosche valves, and is good for high boost while retaining very quick response, I've had it for almost 2 years now on my car. For those who care, it make a pretty cool PSSSSHHHHhh between gears.

a few people on a yahoo group im in use the bosche bypass valves, they swear by them for a cheap bov type piece.

as for sound, the ones ive heard make a bit more of a "hooty" or musical noise as compared to an HK$ which seems to me to be more of a roar or tearing noise.

I think their actually called "diversion valves", when referring to Porsche's. They vent back into the intake, as opposed to the atmosphere. I know a lot of 911 Turbo owners replace them with aftermarket DV's...such as Bailey's DV.
