the 9600 pro has 8 pipelines, the 9600 has 4, so the pro is the better card

PCI-E is way better than AGP.

9600 pro is better than a 9600 but hes a 9600xt which is better than the pro.

The XT is a better card then the pro. The core clock is 100 mhz faster.

I think both are not far from each other in terms of gaming performance with the edge probably going to the 6600 by a little bit, not huge though.

The bigger question between those two is the PCI-E/AGP difference. If you're buying for a new system chances are you going to be going with PCI-E. If you're looking to upgrade the video card on an existing system then AGP is most likely what you're looking at.

The benefit of PCIE over AGP is debatable right now. The one thing that can be said for sure is, AGP is near it's End of Life. I'd be surprised to see any mid or high end graphics cards to be made for AGP in 2006. PCI-E is here now and will be for some time.

If you're buying new I would lean towards a PCI-E system if you just want to upgrade your video card on your system and aren't planning or able to upgrade it anyhow anytime soon then the 9600XT is your choice, between these two particular cards.
