I had 35% tint installed on my Jetta on all the windows except for the windshield. When I had it installed.. I asked for the second LIGHTEST tint on all windows (obviously excluding the windshield)... I then picked it up later that day to find out they installed a 35% rating tint on 7 out of my eight windows!

I am super pleased, and the police don't bug me at all... my friends are all witness to that!

Peace

hey just wondering... are you pleased with the 35%? or would you rather have had 65%?

65% is too dark IMO... from what the tint place showed me... perhaps their scale is backwards...

Gimme two seconds...

Yah ok... I'm fucked in the head.

My window tint is 65%....

All of my knowledge in regards to window tint was backwards... my bad

65% is good... that's what I have! :)

I don't know what percentage mine was. Limo on the back three and medium (second lightest) on the front. My ticket was $35 and they do not give you any time allowance to remove the tint. I got pulled over 3 days later and got shit cuz I still had the tint on :madred:

If you tint your front windows, watch out! It is illegal and you will get ticketed eventually

some cops will make you peel the tint off.

Well I think its when they catch you for the second or third time with it still on they make you peel it off on the spot :dunno:

I heard or read from someone that when the cop pulled him over for his front windshield tint the copper took out a knife and put an X on it
I think that's harsh

I want to do all around tint too
From my what i've heard about it, it really depends on what kind of cops you come by and the degree which your front tints stick out i guess

It just doesn't look nice having only the back windows tinted
all around percentage is nice

if the cop used a knife to put a X on the tint wouldn't it scrach the window too? i thought the cop couldn't touch your car......... if you refuse to peel it the most they could do is have it towed.

i have a friend in edmonton that had to peel his tint infront of the cop. either he peeled it or he gets his car towed.

I heard about a guy who had his tint scratched by a cop when he got pulled over, so he told the cop that he wanted to speak to the supervisor on the spot, and threatened charges of willfull destruction of property... The cop got in big trouble

Was this guy who got his tint scratched a lawyer? Nice... it's always "interesting" to see the "law" get into trouble... LOL

I got limo on the back 3 windows of my car, and light tint on the front side windows. So far (knock on wood) I have only gotten 1 ticket in 3 years of having the tint.
