Got 2 of these units both are next to new shape with the plastic still on the displays and new remotes, manuals and origianal boxes.

They were used for 3 months.
There is no balance and I will get them put in a transfer status once purchased as I am still using them at this time.

This is the latest box that Shaw has issued and asking price is $115.00 each.

I know that you can buy these boxes from Shaw for less then $100.00 after credits, keep in mind that takes 6 months for total credits to be applied and also that is for NEW CUSTOMERS only(someone who has not has Shaw for 6 months or greater)

according to: "http://www.shaw-cable.com/digital/dct2000.htm" one of the features listed is - time shifting.

Please elaborate.

It means you can get the eastern times zones, so that means 2 hours before normal analog tv.
Anyone who has satellite and digital gets time shiffting as well.

Okidoke dude, tell the guy who does the website to learn his terms :)

Time Shifting is known and has always been known as watching a program when it isn't "on" - you may call it something else in the "biz" but, well, us stupid and naive consumers are sometimes so quick to call a duck a duck.

That is called PVR (Personal video recorder) or DVR (digital video recorder)
No HD in this unit so it is impossible to do.

Record ealier and watch later (time shifting) guess it could sound like the same thing

Not to ramble on but this is a quote from both BELL and Shaw's website
" Shift to the time zone of your preference with time shifting feature."
But I dont think you can select them they both just automaticaly appear.

The current models are 5100, 6200, 6408 and 6412.
Just depends on what system your on and if you want dual tuner or just a single tuner.

Dear Mr. Cactus: I still do not understand why Bell and Shaw don't know what "Time Shifting" means. It's like having two definitions of the phrase "To eat a burger"

:D

P.s - free bump for a good deal ;)

In context your link is partly correct RAZ it means to watch a show later.
It doesnt say that it was playing 2 hours earlier in a different part of the country.

Also here is a link 3 more items down on your GOOGLE search, it was put into definition in 1989 when the VCR was in popular demand.

So maybe you should goto http://www.digitalhomecanada.com/forum/
and get with the times.

Also please do not:hijack:
