Where do you plan to lease an AWD car from a Dealership for $8,000? :dunno:

Your best bet is probably going to be an older Subaru. Like the Justy, Legacy, Impreza, Forester, etc...

Do you guys have suggestions for AWD cars around the $1000 range? I'm also looking for a winter beater.

old subaru justy wouldnt be a bad idea for an awd car that is cheaper.

how about a AUdi 90 Quatrro or Audi Quattro Coupe? Are they reliable? He wants a car that is just AWD for our winters and decently reliable. I guess DSM's are out of the question :P

k i have a deal with one of my mechanic friends. Old guy, honest and daily drives his 1988 Celica All Trac. The car has some problems with it. Its leaking some oil from the engine even tho the engine is new and sounds awesome. No clicks dings or bangs. The muffler looks like it has a hole and the cat looks like it doesnt work either because when he opeend the throttle body when the engien was cold to like 5000 rpms, it smoked liek hell. No engine oil burning. Compression is also very good. THe guys said hed be happy if he got 1000 for it cause there is a whoel bunch of work that needs to be done. How reliable are these? I dont know exact kms but i think its in the 230xxx km range.
