I am looking to buy an OEM H4 HID kit from an automotive manufacturer but all i've been able to find lately is D2R bulbs. Anyone know of a car manufacturer that installs OEM H4 HID kits into their vehicles? And if so, what manufacturer and what vehicles?

None. All OEM HIDs use HID capsules (D2R, D2S, etc), not halogen based bulb fitments.

Kenny's right, all HID bulbs are the same. Anything with a halogen size like H4, H1, 9006, etc. means that the HID bulb has been rebased for that application.

D2R are for reflectors
D2S are for projectors

The bulbs are basically the same except there's coating on one side of the D2R bulb. You can scrape that away with a razor blade and get a D2S bulb.

Can you buy a kit to rebase a D2R/D2S bulb to fit in a standard H4 headlight housing?
