I have an older compustar two way starter/alarm on my car. The remote was left in the rain for a few minutes at soccer one day and the 1 button starting sticking. It was setting off the alarm and arming/disarming the car like crazy. I took it apart and scraped the green stuff on the button off, and it worked fine again. Got left in the rain at soccer again (I just don't learn) but now even after I scraped this green stuff off the metal button inside the casing it still is going bonkers. It's like the button is always being pushed. Can I fix this or will I need to order a new one? If I need a new one, where can I get one the cheapest in calgary?
One more question - if I need a new remote anyways, would a new brain plug into existing harnesses if I wanted to get a newer compustar model?
Thanks guys.

You definately need a new remote. There is a number on your antenna. A new transmitter can be programmed, depending on the model number the unit should plug right in with no changes.
