well, it's time for an oil change, so i went to canadian tire to pick up some oil + filter. well, the filter for the MKII turbo was not on the shelf. i looked for another brand and they dont have it either. so i went to another canadian tire hoping they will have it. but they dont even have that filter listed on their shelves.

so where do you guys buy your filters? and if i were you, i would stock up on them if you can find them.

Should be same for the 3sge and 5sfe filters I think, Cant remember... (Some Carmy's and Celica's) Could also check the alltrac, they got the same motor

just check the number off one of your used filters and compare in the book with other toyota models... beats paying the dealer twice as much for the same thing:dunno:

The dealer filters are like 11 dollars. Theyre worth the extra 4 dollars.

not worth it to cheap out on filters. alot of them do not have good anti-drainback valves or poor bypass valves that don't seal well in the winter.

First Generation All Trac uses the YZZ-D1 oil filter (somewhat big filter which is used on all V6 toyota engines. (Gen 1 3S-GTE, 7M-GTE,1MZ-FE, 3VZ-FE,5VZ-FE etc

Second Generation All Trac uses a slightly smaller filter YZZ-F1
SW20T uses the YZZ-F1 oil filter. (Gen II 3S-GTE, 1AZ-FE,2AZ-FE, 2ZZ-GE etc....

I would much rather use a Toyota oil filter rather than some POS Fram filter or what have you, it's made by Toyota for Toyota!

2. Whoever said Toyota oil filters are made BY toyota for toyota?? They farm that shit out, get a supply of oil filters made by whatever company and get Toyota painted on the side.....thats how it works.....you think they put "toyota" oil in it too??

of course its the same, sure 4 bux extra isnt a big deal but thats 4 bux more toyota gets from you cuz you want to believe they are there to give you a better product rather than take more money from you.

it might not be a Fram filter, but it sure isn't a Toyota Filter.
