i'm running 91 petro canada pump gas in my silvia with sr20 redtop motor. not the best gas out there but seems to be running fine. thinking about switching to the husky/mohawk 94. just curious what everyone is running on their SR/CA motors with stock ecu.

low boost should be fine.. any more than 14+psi get 94oct. Better be safe than sorry.

I used husky 94 a while back and have since switched to shell/esso 91, havn't really noticed a difference. Main reason is because husky is awkward to get to. This is boosting at 10-12psi. I actually think my gas mileage is slightly better with the 91 which is weird.

i run shell 91 and for some odd reason my car runs better on that than it does on 94

I use 94 octane when I'm running 12psi; 91 or 92 octane when I'm running 10psi or less.

i was a bit worried at first with running 91 on the jdm ecu but seems ok since most are doing the same thing. not related but i'm also getting close to 500km's per tank with sprinted driving. very good for a daily driver! haha

thats how i was at first.. always puttin in 94 octane, but then i was really desperate for gas and i put in 91... i thought it did alot better.

i dont really find that much diff b/w huskey/mohawk and the others:dunno:
and im only runnign 7 pounds of boost

I noticed my cars performance and mileage got way better when i stopped using the mohawk/husky 94 octane stuff and went to 91 octane at shell. nearly 75km more per tank and the car just felt better overall. The ecu's in the car are tuned for 91 or 92 octane i can't really remember. I was told this by the guys at secret services when they chipped my ecu. Aka that 91 octane would be fine.

It's common knowledge you get noticably poorer fuel economy on Ethanol Blended Gasoline. Generally between 50 and 100km per tank.

Shell VPOWER seems to be great for street use.

Lower octane gas will actually make more power then higher octane gas, for thoes of you that have noticed your car runs better on < 94

I was getting some detonation yesterday (I think I had boost a bit too high- Stupid Profec), so I through in 94 and it was fine.

I stand by my original statement :D

Mleh no detonation at 21psi on a GTRS with 91 octane. I was told shell had better additives than other gas stations, apparently thats the only different thing from station to station i was told. Then again i'd bet the enthalpy ecu tune i had was way better than the factory tune, strange as that is...

yea, but I'm running just a little T25.
