View Full Version : Vandalized: My Car

I go out to my car around 10:15 this morning and the front bumper has been vandalized. The left corner is sagging, and it looks like it was RIPPED off.

The actual fascia has been ripped, so even if it was screwed back in it wouldn't look the same.

So it looks like I need a new front Aerobody bumper.

Anyone know where and how much?

Thanks in advance.

Depending on how bad it is, it probably can be repaired. Do you have any pics?

Don't have any pics at the moment, but I'll get some when I get access to a camera.

The bumber has been removed from the wheel-well moulding, and piece of my plastic undercarraige have been falling off.

Oh, and the plastic piece of the bumper has been ripped. Either way, I'm still mega pissed.

Further inspection yesterday, it actually looks like someone hit my car and pushed the left side completely in. The clearance for the bumper on the left is about .25" less than on the right; the headlights don't line up; the fender is obstructing the passenger door (can't open the door); and, of course, the bumper is effed.

It's going to cost about $1200 USD for all these parts new, or about $1000 CDN for a used front clip. I don't know what I'm going to do with it, but I think I'll just put it into storage soon and drive the winter car and worry about it next year.

Do that, then you wont be stressed about it, and you'd probly have a few extra bucks laying around after winter.

Yea, I'm even considering an S15 front end conversion.

I'd be a lot more angry if it was May right now.

That is gay and at the same time why I refuse to get a condo/apartment. Its worth it in the end to save more down payment and get a damn house. I found a huge hork of spit on my car a few days ago... fucking fags.

Yea I know. I bet that it's fairly uncommon too... I think it's the area that I'm in here.

Nothing but problems since I moved in here, so I'm trying to get my ass out :P

Damage to the front end is currently under investigation. The damage looks to be a lot more severe than it appeared.

As well, I have to head down to a CPS station where they will determine if it was vandalizm or a hit and run, as new evidense is leaving me confused.

If it was a hit and run, insurance won't cover a dime.

Fuck. :thumbsdow

a few months back I had my car egged twice in a week and a half, the second time they used a whole dozen eggs each on me and my buddy's car
some people just have no respect, the best way to thwart them to is put your car in a nice big comfy warm garage :D

I think beyond, and just everyone beyond knows, should petition for 3rd party insurance to cover hit and runs by law. Because honestly, what the HELL is that junk? Someone hits your car, and you have to pay for it?

probably cuz most of the time, it's hard to prove it was a hit and run...unless like the paint from the other car is left on your car.

I agree with the fact that it should be covered, given that often the expense is unrealistic and unaffordable. BUT, it is hard to prove.

Hit and run / Vandalism is a touchy subject it seems with the CPS.
