View Full Version : Discontinued remote starter- need new remote

Hi, I have an Arctic Start remote starter/ car alarm in my 98 Honda Civic. (I bought the car used, it came with the starter.)

The remote no longer works, even with a new battery. I'm told that the line of remote starter that was installed in my car has been discontinued, and I'll have to rip it all out of there, buy and install a whole new system if I want to use it. Anyone know if this is true?

The FFC ID on the starter is: NAH 800R

I can't read the model number... NS 45__ something.

I have looked everywhere for a new remote with no luck. I'm in Edmonton, and would love to get my car started before I have to be out there early in the very cold weather!

I am not sure if the Arctic Start module will accept the Auto Start transmitter. You could email Autostart and see if they can help you out. All the FCC ID numbers are the same for Arctic Start, Prostart, etc.

Mmkay, apparently the starter is a "Nordic", and Future shop does sell them. There is a replacement remote there that will work with my system!! :clap:


I called a ton of specialty car shops, e-mailed a ton of other places, and they all said that my system had been discontinued and there was nothing more I could do. One quick post, and presto, it's all figured out!

I now have the new alarm in my possession... a Nordic NS-103 replacement remote. However, since I did not turn off the car alarm, I had a guy at JB's Power Outlet do it for me, I have no idea how to turn it back on!!

Can anyone send me a Installation guide for this so I know how to turn the main starter on, and how to program my remote? The remote came with no instructions at all.
