yeah i signed up at bay club (WHC) and i got access to everyone in the city, i'm sure you do with no matter what clab you join at, but yeah i paid my full year at once but it orks out to be about 40 a month .... 3-4 times a week you get your moneys worth specially if you donl;t have a lot of hot water at your place and compensate by using theirs ;)

Yeah I joined WHC as well, I go to the one in edgemont. I'm not sure if you can just join for a month, I think you gotta do it for 1 year. If you know anyone that has signed up, they can probably give you one of those 2 week trial passes (if they still have any left).

Eh? How did you get such a good rate? I'm paying like 60 bucks/month, and I had to pay this stupid initiation fee which was like 90 bucks. I calculated it, for 1 year, I pay about 830 bucks in total.

If you go in and talk to one of the reps they will give you 2 weeks free. Tell them you arent going to sign up until you give it a try. I always do this, before i commit to a gym.

I go to the Sunridge one and I too pay about 35 bones/month when I work it out over the year. I signed up during the New Year special where they waived the initiation fee if you signed up for a month.

I think if you get the "bronze" (ie cheapo package) you can get the lower rate. This means that you are only limited to the one gym. If you pay more you can have access to all gyms in Calgary. For me, this would be a waste because, I would have to go WAY out my way to get to the others and burn precious precious fuel. My friend lives equally far to the Macleod and southport gyms ... so she opted for the more access one.

The other thing is that usually the rates are semi-negociable. I don't think that they offer the month to month thing but it would hurt to ask.

Good luck.

What the? There are different packages? Damnit, the stupid ass guy didn't tell me about different packages. Fucker probably suckered me into signing up for the most expensive package.

i always make it seem doubtful that I'll join nething, so they get desperate and give incentives...... like porn sites, :P

sign up, then cancel, and they will email you a cheaper rate for the same product

Hey...I am the head sales associate for World Health Club...the rates do not vary at all EVER...I can guarantee this...I have been there for 2 years and not once have they varied...if you sign up and cancel, they will not give you a better rate...the only things that change are the promotions (ie. initiation and time for free).

If anyone is interested however, I am working out a deal for all Beyond members...again the rates will be the same for all, but I will give a 0 initiation on a 1 year term and 6 weeks for free with 3 personal training sessions.

Rates do vary from club to club depending on which location you would like to use. I work at the Edgemont club which is the flagship club. We do offer indoor tennis and squash, which no other club does.

You can reach me here or at 239-4048.

Ah man, I wish I knew about this before. I could have gotten the initiation fee taken off. :banghead:
