Hey, I'm going to be upgrading to a 17" wheel front and back, just wondering what kind of offsets you guys are running, front and back, and any recommendations on what wheel to go with.

It all depends on the look you want to go with. Dish or single piece. Personally Im a fan of one look piece on mr2s I dont really like the dish look unless they have flares or widebody. For Dish rims youll need a higher offset...39-43, for single piece rims you can run a lower offset 30-35. The te37s have always worked well on the mr2.

I am running a 17 x 7" rim front and rear with a 40mm offset. Now that I have them mounted I would say that a 35mm offset is probably a little more optimal. I am running 225s front and 245s rear on the street and the 7" tires are within the manufacturers specs. However I think a 8" front and 8.5 rear if you could find that combination would be better. The offset on the MR2 makes finding wheel + tire combos a real challenge.

I run 17xx7.5 in the front and 17x8.5 in the rear 38 and 35 offset respectively. once in a while when going over gigantic bumps it will rub slightly. I am lowered about 1.5" though.

The right offset with staggered wheels is really hard to find.

Think there is any possibilty of getting 18's in there? Theres a couple sets ive been looking at that only come in 18. I know the mr2 on www.teamrice.org is rockin a set of 18's.

Sorry I should have clarified as well, width and offset go hand in hand. The wider the rim the higher the offset.
