I heard of a place in Calgary you can go and shoot pretty much any gun you want... not to sure where it is or what it's called, anyone been there? Wondering if it's worth checking out...

actually would be more fun to fire the 7.62mm NATO round for the M4 carbine, but they had it convert to 9mm pistol round....So you would probably be better off with the shotgun instead....:D

i heard they have a place in west edmnonton mall where you can shoot virtually any gun, autos, pistols etc....expensive tho.....personally i don't condone the use of guns, and think shooting ranges are retarded but thats another thread;)

Well, if any of you guys want to go shooting I can take you shooting to try it out, I've got .303, 7.62, shotguns (10g and 12g) - let me know, I'm always ready to show people guns, safety and fun - so they get their own PAL and their own guns ;)

oh, and no, the west ed mall one is 'the same' as The Shooting edge, ie. same rules apply as in the real world - no automatics. Yes, handguns can be fired (same as in the shooting edge) - but it adheres to the same laws.

The shooting edge you buy a day pass and then any ammunition you need from them.

They have arms that used to be fully auto capable but have been disabled to semi auto only. (Although I know someone where one malfunctioned became fully auto for a short time) Eg. Uzi, Sterling, ak , a few more but I cannot remember them.
I only use them If I need to sight in and its shitty outside.
I prefer the sibbald range its free, just a little far to drive. And if shotgun skeet shooting is your thing hit Walmart for 100 rounds for $20 bucks

The Shooting Edge is $33 bucks for a day pass and $25 bucks for 50 rounds which doesn't last more than 15 minutes if your being conservative. The ammo is what kills you, and if your using there firearms you must use there ammo.

Sibbald is decent, but now I have my own "private shooting range" up north, ~10 minutes from my house :D

Yes, its perfectly legal, even have an ATT for there with my Handguns! :D

Bastard.....

Cant be as good as the real thing ? I mean it wont feel right unless you can walk on 5 inches thick of shotgun casings to keep the mud off your boots.

ROFL!

Its 'real' enough, the owner of the land lets us shoot there whenever we want, and there are already some nifty things to shoot at, we do however pick up most of our shotgun shells, but almost none of our brass, except the ridiculously expensive 8mm that we try and keep 60% of the brass for (for future reloadtasticness)

Any of you guys who wanna go blow shit up some time, more than welcome to PM me, I go out atleast twice a month :D

I came from a small town. But the range was still quite busy.

- Rasmus Jason, is that you?

I go pretty often too. Not lately though. Last year I was out almost every second weekend. Shotgunning gophers is bad for the conscience though.

My girlfriend comes with me every once in a while, she likes to hit milk bottles ~100-150m away with her lil 22 ;)

Nope, i'm not jason, don't know any jasons? My name is Rasmus. Yea, i'm one of the few IT guys with an interest in cars and shooting ;) a real mans man! Rofl :D

I haven't killed a gopher yet, my brother did and I felt absolutely terrible, i love shooting and destroying inanimate objects farish away, but can't kill anything without feeling absolutely horrid! :)

haha, dont get me started. I'll be a total IT nerd shooter. I'll bring old HDD's, computers, and other various items, haha, we even have a printer/fax like in office space.

"Why does it say paper jam when there is no paper jam?"

"Thats because you just unloaded 200 rounds into it"

ROFL!

So true, monitors blow up good with incindery rounds ;)

Last time we had a few military flares, shot one at the broken down old -unused and broken assed- shed/house thingie, it went right through the old disgusting wood and left a zinged (sp?) hole all the way through the house.. veery cool :D

I might have to check out the range myself, I think it would be a neat experience... and definitely something different to do for a few hours or whatever :)

shooting edge is the best IMO everything you need and 50 rounds 9mm for $60 another 50 rounds is like $26

TheBenzo

Hah, by the time you own your own gun and buy a box of rounds for 18 bux, thats 4 trips to the shooting edge.

Allways interested in meeting people into shooting/hunting.

I find most places dismiss anyone in their early 20's to 30's when you go in and ask advice etc... Russell Sports is terrible for this. All the old guys just seem to want to get rid of you and bullshit with other old guys at the counter.

Thats why you walk in w/ your gun cases, plop them loudly on the counter and say "I've got an order to fill!"

I walked into "The Gun Shop" in Inglewood, and the owner tried as hard as he could to sell me a Baby Eagle. Ha!

Was there a couple years ago...cost me $68 to shoot 2 20 round boxes of 7.62 x 39 ammo thru an Ak47.
Fun but costly!

Gotta love "The gun shop" (aka proline shooters 2)

When is a good weekend, and what are we all shooting? We could go to Sibbald with Non-restricteds, do a little skeet and stuff?

Or we could try and arrange a time that works for everyone and meet up somewhere in NW/NE calgary and all drive out to "my shooting place" ;)

Charon
10-04-2005, 06:07 PM
I only have a .22 and Shotty in Calgary right now. Skeet would be my call.

Gophers are pretty much gone :(

Raz
10-04-2005, 06:18 PM
rofl, i'm down with shotties, i've got some 150 skeet still, i can always go get more... We'd have to bring a few guys/girls to throw skeet thoe :D
