View Full Version : Should i sell my 1997 240sx?

recently got myself into some trouble
i've put my car up for sale but nobody wants me to sell it, (my parents, friends, everyone!)
i have a winter car(lancer) and my plan was to sell the 240 to pull my self together but know i'm thinking of selling the lancer instead and keeping my much beloved 240sx. I need your help guys!!!
1) If i keep the 240 i will have to winter drive,(which is taboo in my b ooks) is there anything i can do maintence wise in order to keep the car rust free??
2) If i do sell the 240, what are the chances that i ever find another again?(i took me all summer to find a 1997 le one)
3) I put it for sale for 12 grand, is too little?? my friends say i shouldn't take a penny less than 14G

black 240sx le fully loaded, no rust, 193,XXX pretty much stock with a few mods here and there.

The km is high, so 12000 is about right. As rare as they are to see around here, they are available.

if you have to choose, keep the 240.....just take care if you MUST drive it in the winter...get the udnerbody sprayed..get the front 3m'd, wash it like every 2 days lol....in a perfect world you could also keep both but if thats not an issue....good luck finding a virgin S14.5 again (best look one ever IMO).....as for price, 12K is about right given the kms

Absolutely. The 240/Sylvia fad has pretty well peaked and is now starting to decline. Nissan sold very few 1997 240's so they are pretty rare. You will never get more money for that car than you will now.

duh, sell the lancer... put 4 good winters all around and RWD will be no prob. And gett all the rust-proof/3M stuff done and wash it often. OR take the $12k and get one again in, say, 2 yrs for liek $7-8k, and in the end, you'll have your 240 PluS an xtra 4 Gs in yr pokets for mods!

With the mileage you have on the 240, chances are it has been winter driven already. Get underneath the car and see, maybe you already have corrosion forming.

Where do i get the 3m stuff done?
there is no rust or corrosion forming i made sure of this before i bought it.
