Okay, to make a long story short I had a bunch of important pictures and videos from the Leafs game on my camera, and half way through the game I went into the memory to see how much was available and ended up formatting the memory card... now it's all gone.

Is there any way possible to go into the memory card and recover this data?

Thanks:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Give this a try, not sure how the trial works, but it can't hurt to try it.

yes you can retrieve it provided you have not written on to the card agian... there should be a recovery software that is supplied with most cameras (i know canon does)

Well I continued taking pictures during the game after I formatted it. I'll try the recovery software in the box and go from there.

Thanks guys

you might be okay, IIRC flsh memory goes in a circular type pattern, if you delete it, it still continues where it left off, so you may be able to recover some, of the pictures, just not all.

I'm not finding the recovery software anywhere.

Is it the 'solution disk' cd or what?

Okay I've found out that SanDisk has a program that may work, but it costs $40.00. First I need to buy a "card reader".

Does anybody have either of these?

I have a card reader.. They are pretty cheap. something like 10.00 at FS.

But I do not have the ScanDisk software.. Personally I have never been able to recover a photos that I have erased from my memory cards, but I have also never really tried. :dunno:

The same thing happened to my gf earlier this year, although she stopped taking pics when she formatted the card. I was able to use a card reader and free software called Restoration (http://www.geocities.jp/br_kato/) (http://www.geocities.jp/br_kato/) to get back 95% of the pics and vids. I think you can only recover 1 image at a time (instead a batch recover) but wtf, it's free.

I need to recover a memory card that has about 300 pics on it. Anyone know of a company (prefer local) that does memory card recovery?

Alright I've tried several of these downloads from websites but I'm getting nowhere.

I can't seem to read my card reader as a physical drive, it's plugged into my USB port.

Anybody?

I ended up taking my memory card to McBain Camera. They were able to recover 504 pics and only charged me $15+GST......That included the 300 or so pics that I wanted and about 200 pics that I had already downloaded off of the card onto my laptop and had previously deleted off the memory card.

Look into that.

A couple friends of mine went to London Drugs and they were able to recover hundreds of images from years back. I'm going to take it there first, then if they can't recover anything I'll take it to that McBain Camera store.

I'll let you guys know what happens.
