Well as some of you have read, got a BMW on its way from Japan so now I get to plan out a trip there for 2-3 days.

My buddy is probably going to drive me out, so it will be a fairly direct drive there. Then I get to argue with customs I'm assuming which will be around a day worth of work in itself *I'm excited for that :D* then I get to drive my baby home.

I was thinking I need to stop maybe every couple of hours, give the car a break, have extra stops that I could stop at if needed as I don't want to break this thing driving it home, althought it shoudln't, I just want to be safe as I would be far from home, towing isn't cheap from middle of bc to calgary.

I will be going this winter so sunny places are probably out of the question. I'm not legal so the bars are out of the question too. What other places are there to goto between Van and Calgary?

It's a big beemer, 180km/hr for 6-7 hrs shouldn't phase it. Stop at Revelstoke and get a teen burger.

When is your pickup date?

Haven't paid for shipping yet so I won't know until I do that.

If its me and logan we will probably be doing over 180 on the way home *grins* I mean, 110 all the way, no speeding!!!

Yeah, keep it down around the shitty part of HWY1 but pay the extra $10 for the coqihalla and see what BMW made these cars for. At the speed limit of course....

When you take the HWY1 from Van you chose between Hwy 3, Hwy 1 and Hwy 5 (coqihalla) 5 is $10 but it's fast, like deerfoot for 250kms until Kamloops. It gets high though and the weather changes pretty fast.

Check your tires make sure they are okay if you plan on driving spiritedly through the Coquihala. The weather can change really quick any time of the year so while it may be sunny at first, it can turn into a snow storm pretty quickly.

Yep, $10 each way. Worth it because you save a lot of driving, gas and time.

Well worth the $10. But roads may be wet this time of the year, so watch out.

The other thread has what type it is.

aparantly a couple of hours before my importer dude called the Jap yard, someone else called aswell and it may be sold so I have to hope they didn't and then it is still mine, if they did then I got to find another one :(

In any event. $10 COULD be worth it, if it was a nice day as it will be the middle of winter so it would all depend on the weather.

Logan, I'll pay for gas through the Coqihalla ;)

Right now everything is on pause until I figure out if it is mine or not.

theken, the wholesale lot did their inspection thing and said mechanically and phsyically in very good shape, owner took very good care of it. Only problem is one slight burn mark on driver seat and the dash is probably fadded a little I think.

Are you legally allowed to drive it back to alberta given that it would have valid alberta registration? How does that work?

You get an in-transit sticker from either BC or Alberta, i forget.
