Alright, stupid question time,
A family member of mine is getting married, and wants to keep it really small. One of his friends has told him that he can just go downtown, and be married by a justice of the peace. He asked me for advice on how to do this, and I have no idea, so I'm turning to you guys. How would he go about doing this? He has obtained a marriage license already.

I have no expertise in this area but doesn't that mean they are allready married? If so couldn't they just have a small cerimony wherever they like.

The marriage license is so you can get married, not to prove you are married.

What he wants to know, is if there is some place that you can just go down, and get somebody to sign the little piece of paper that says you're married. He doesn't want to pay to have somebody come out or anything like that, the plan is just to have a little party for it all.
