Care to share what you mean by the first three questions?

The phone has never given me the "no network" problem, unless i'm at the university library on the 6th floor and above. The phone was purchased overseas because mine was damaged, and has no box or manual with me (actually, they are, just thousands of miles away.

To check the build date take the battery off and on the sticker you will see something like 01W40. Which would mean 2001 Week 40.

To check the flip count enter > * < < * < *, and then goto service tests and flip count. Since the lifetimer on these phones is resettable this is how these phones are judged for usage.

To check the firmware press > * < < * < *, then go to Service Info, then SW information. You will see something like R1B, R2C, etc...
