I'm so confused but all I can think is that the crash standards and airbag are all the same but. HOW THE HELL did this guy get it over here? ANY IDEAS? :poosie:

maybe it was something else

either way, if you come (or go somewhere) for or as a student you are allowed to have your car shipped over and drive it there for a certain period of time (1-2 yrs maybe) thats the only thing i can think of!

No. It said 350Z. I was looking for some sort of badge differences but looked like a normal 350Z. Also, as all Japanese cars come with the little square sticker on the front windshield with a number.....It didn't have one as far as I could see.

But no question....it was RHD. LOL

i HAVE FRIENDS HERE WHO DRIVE SILVIAS, FAIRLADY'S AND A CELICA GT FOUR AND THEY ALL COULDN'T BELIEVE THAT I SEEN A rhd 350Z.

Thats nifty, take that same strech of road for a few days at the same time and see if you can find him again. I'd be out there 24/7 looking for him if I were u :P

You can bring a RHD car to Canada .. no problem..

as long as you don't sell it here, just drive it!

Lots of RHD cars here, ( not those 20 yr old JDM )

Lots of european people, they transfer to Canada for work .. 1, 2 or 3 yr .. so, they can bring their car over .. if they want.:)

cars in Canada used to be much cheaper then other country, but no more.:dunno:

What's the point of having one...it's pretty much the same specs I think. What a waste of time, and shouldn't it have a Fairlady badge instead of a 350z badge?

Well i am going to keep a lookout for this baby. The hat is starting to have some nice looking cars in it. Skylines, silvias, GT fours, NSX's, 3000GT's and a ferrari. Very rare for this broke ass town lol.

It's probably just a 350Z with a PS2 steering wheel on the right side, the guy was playing GT4. :D

I'm pretty sure there was a thread not long ago about a 350Z being in town, and I think the guy was here on business or something.

With all the latest spottings of late model RHD cars, I think someone figured out the loophole of bringing in ANY car for up to 3 years with the ability to register it permantly afterwards ;).

Wouldn't be surprised to see a R33 here soon.

Very true we are getting some nice cars. Havent seen the 3000gt's or the ferrari yet though. Probly wont till spring. A buddy of mine (his dad owns southtech auto) just imported a skyline and should be here in the next few days. Its hard to see any of these nice cars around here because of the abundance of cavi's sunfire's and beaters.

Isnt there some guy in calgary with an R33. The white one? Or did we figure out that it was a conversion? All i know is that there was a whole bunch of controversy over it.

http://forums.beyond.ca/showthread.php?s=&threadid=96148

Unlike calgary, these "JDM" cars or even done up cars like Blairs "Eclipse", Shawns 200sx or Chris' Civic (http://forums.beyond.ca/attachment.php?s=&postid=1220064) are very rare in medicine hat, so its pretty cool to actaully see them.

(Medicine hat guys: Next year we should try and see if we can get weekly meet going or maybe a meet every 2 weeks at the bus depot. Try to get the nice cars all in one place maybe for some pictures or something.)

So what's the secret :D

rage2
10-12-2005, 11:04 PM
If I posted the secret it wouldn't be a secret no more. I'm sure the importers here know exactly what I'm talking about.

Here's a hint. The tough part is finding the right guy to sign off on the proper form ;).

Google is your friend lol.

well that explains bringing in a car for 3 years, but not how to keep it in canada.

i must find this out, and import me a cossie :D

rage2
10-31-2005, 02:01 PM
Well the loophole I'm talking about, TipoBoy's using it. He's using one of the possibilities of that rule (having a work visa). Obviously, as a canadian resident/citizen, you don't need a visa to work. What else could it be..... haha.

As for keeping it, just have to know what year vehicle to choose hehe.

AllGoNoShow
10-31-2005, 02:06 PM
rage for the year thing, if your talking about bringing in say a 94, keeping it for 3 years which makes it 2008 or whenever you do it. Which means that 15 year rule will now be for 94's or whatever year it happens to be, it won't work.

I looked into it, if you bring in a newer car, the government knows about it obveously, so the 3 years you can keep it blah blah, then you HAVE to export it. Even though it would now be legal, you would legally have to export it or risk it being siezed. You could attempt to export then import again but it may not be worth the money.

Well guys, We all know why he might of converted it, if he did, because the weight ratio is better for drifting. Also, the addition of the RHD means better gas mileage and fuel economy.

As for placement of a drift button, its 10x easier to install in this RHD car.
