Its some amazing technology in that boat. I seem to remember reading that the design of the hull was very intensive as a traditional hull would not keep the boat upright in rough conditions and they had to split it into 3 peaks. Very cool.

- the first 3 pics scare me, That this is massive! if that was just sitting in the middle of the water, not moving, i would never go near it, or stick around to see if it's a UFO or if it's man made lol.

I remember that from Top Gear... It's very impressive, but I'd never spend that kind of money on a boat...

ZorroAMG
10-14-2005, 08:57 PM
^ cause you need much more than "That kind of money " before you could even THINK of buying it.....I read somewhere that it costs mid 6 figures a month just to run it (staffing as well)....

BerserkerCatSplat

^Oh, no doubt about it. Imagine just the cost of fuels, paying people to scrape the barnacles off... the costs would be endless.

I guess I get to remain a landlubber. :D

Scraping the barnacles off! I really don't think that they have much chance of growing on that boat. They are probably ripped off by the force of the water. lol

Yes to the boat!! But there was also a car, two actually. Was the 'Cadillac' really a Cadillac or a 'special' made for the movie? Anybody know?

And in the glass case, wasn't that a model of a Bonneville Flats speedster?

True, but I just saw the movie last night (again) on Korean television. Some things never die! I thought to pursue more info when I first saw the movie but let it slide. Today I googled it and got this forum and this thread. I am delighted to learn more of the boat but the car was nice too. Maybe someone else also remembers. Since my interests lean toward fast machines, I am twice pleased to find you.

The boat is called the Wally 118 made by Wally Yacht Group IIRC

Thanks 94, that is such a fine design!! It is so simple, it looks like a model and yet is a large boat. Beautiful.
