Ive tried looking it up but theres not much information on it. As I was looking at pics of the car i noticed that the headlights looked somewhat very well modeled into the body. then it occured to me that there was no hood lines. Where the heck is the engine and how do they get at it?

Could be hinged at the front bumper behind the bodywork. The whole piece tilts forward and you have access from the sides.

As you can see here, the front body panels are seperated from the door and bottom skirts. The skirts are tall enough that they are probably attached directly to the frame or body itself. Judging from the clearances involved, I don't think a front-hinging design would have enough room to swing without hitting the door panels.

Thus, it looks to me like a one-piece front clip that lifts off the body entirely. This is a one-off prototype example, but it does have the Vanquish's V12, so they had to access the engine somehow. My guess is connectors in the wheelwells and bumper hold the bodywork on. If you look at the headlights, they seem to be recessed into the engine bay. I believe this is because they are not actually attached to the hood/clip, but hard-mounted in the engine bay, and shine through the smoked plastic on the front body clip.

The car was a design study. The whole purpose is to have function follow form and as such, the entire front clip has to be lifted off to access the engine.

yeah i never thought aston martin would sink so low to make a hatch back, now maybe if it was a fastback......

yea I agree.
If you want a nice hatch go buy an A-3 or something
for 200Gs I sure as hell wouldn't buy a hatch...

^Could just be the image quality. There's lots of pictures of the Jet out there, it's not a Photoshop.

There probably isn't even an engine in that car. If they decide to do a working prototype, they will modify the front end as needed.

Actually, according to the articles I read, that is a fully functional rolling prototype that you could puchase for $300,000 if you wanted.

If that's true, that would be $300k USD... the "normal" Vanquish is more than $300k CAD.
