Anyone know what would cause an amp to continually stay on even with the car off? There is a remote wire attached to it so it should be getting the signal to turn itself off. Must be an internal thing? Does the same in 2 different cars. Do you guys think it would be possible to fix it or even worth fixing? The amp in question is an old Alpine V12.
Thanks!

do a search for repair shops and get an estimate done. then decide.

I assume youve checked the remote turn on wire at the amplifier and found no +12V with the head unit turned off? If there isnt 12 volts and it stays on SWX would be right you would need to get it repaired...... which V12 amplifier is it?

I didn't check the remote wire for no 12v, I actually never thought of it. But I did plug the amp in my car (it's a friends amp) and it does the same. I know for a fact that my car is wired properly because I did it last week and all my stuff works properly. The amo in question is a V12 MRV-T500.

Where does the REM wire into the amp come from?

It SHOULD be coming from a blue wire at the back of your deck, or daisy chained from another amp on the system.

Check that out before you do anything.
