Has anyone here ever applied for special interest relief for their student loans? I lost my job a few months ago and now I'm in the search of looking for a job. How well of a search do they do in order to approve the application? Do they check all your bank accounts, investments etc?

Did you apply for remission? I did that and half my student loan disappeared.

Basically, the government pays back part of your student loan for you. I got more than half paid back. Worth the effort in applying.

I think they automatically applied it to me. I remember i had around 24,000 debt but they knocked it down to 20,000...
