Thats a unique idea, never heard of someone doing that before.

Good question about the balance issue though, cant imagine a peice of paper would weight enough, would just be like having some dirt/mud on your rim.

thats not really a bad Idea...if you secured it to the inner part of the rim, and then added the tire, balanced it, I dont think it would put it out of balance that much.

:werd:

if it it secured before the tire goes on, when u balance it, it will counter for it, only problem is if it breaks loose..It should be fine otherwise.

That's a heck of a good idea, provided it's secured properly.

Shops should offer this as an option to tire installs say an extra $10 bucks. If enough people did this I think it would be a deterent to people thinking of stealing or buying stolen wheels/tires. You could use the stolen wheels only untill the tires wore out then you would risk getting caught.

They will just start cutting off the tire though.

^^^ What ever to make it harder for theives is cool with me, I just don't care if the tires are cut, it just forces them to fork out cash to buy tires.

Most theives dont keep the stuff for themselves they sell it.

Easier to just write on the inside of the rim with a paint pen or magic marker.
