Turn the On/Off switch off.
Push both buttons on the transmitter
Lights will flash 15 times
Turn on the switch.

I have a customer with a CS260i for manual transmission. He wants me to install it in his new (used) truck. The tag is missing off the module and I have no installation manual or programming info.
I have wired up the harness to the ignition switch as these wires are pretty much standard color.
IF ANYONE HAS A WIRING MANUAL AND PROGRAMMING INSTRUCTIONS, that would be great. The only way I can tell it's a CS260 is from the tag on the back of the antenna.

You will have to use a CS260M for the standard tranny.

I also have the CS2400 and recently had to replace my starter, since then I have been in programming HELL.

I now am at the same point as:
ADMSHARKEY descibes above- When I try to start it, my lights flash 9 times.

The answer you gave him was:

Should be good to go.

I tried this several times, get all the right amount of flashes etc. and when I go to start it, it engages- IE driving lights come on etc... like it usually does, then when it should start, as would be usual. It just shuts down and I'm right back to where I started.

The only monkey wrench that I can think of that may be causing this not to work is that, after about a year of having the CS2400 installed.
I only ever had the one button working just to start my 1991 GMC Van (work truck). I found that in the cold weather it was not warming up, especially inside, as fast as I wanted it to. So I took it to my mechanic to install a fast idle switch (solenoid attached to the throttle on carb) so it would warm up faster for me. While doing the install he fried the brain on the original CS, it was replaced with what he told me was the newest CS brain at the time. This was about 1996 or so, so I'm not completely sure if I have the CS2400 or whatever was the very next generation of CS.

Start the vehicle using the key.
Push button I on the remote starter, wait for the parklights of the van to come on,
Turn the key off.
Does the van stay running, and all the accessories working?
If the van stays running but no heater, check the fuses to the remote starter. If the van stays running and the heater is working, there may be a poor connection on the starter wire (Orange) of the command start. If the connection is good, the starter relay on the command start main unit may be the problem.

I sent a manual for the CS2500, as that is the only unit with tach lockout mode.:thumbsup:

I have a CommandStart in my 2000 F150. I'm holding the brain in my hand but have no idea what model this unit is. It has the key FOB with only 2 blue buttons and no LED on it. It has quit working and I figured it was the hood switch. I cleaned it and once again the park lights blink when the switch is activated. I think I need to reprogram the FOB but without the model number of the brain I'm not sure how to do it. How do I tell which brain I have? I'm thinking that its one of the following :

CS1400/1500/1600/1700/1800
CS2400/2500/3000

Its the remote starter model only with power door locks. No alarm.

Another question...My auto shutoff timer has been set to 10 minutes ever since I bought the truck. Since the truck didn't come with the manual for the CommandStart, I have no idea on how to adjust this setting. Is it possible to adjust this setting without knowing your model number?

If there is an electronic manual around which might work with my unit, I would appreciate a copy. It can be sent to [email protected]

I purchased a vehicle with the command start and it has no manual ... it starts the vehicle and from some postings I have learned how to shut the vehicle done ....it only flashes park lights when I try to lock it ...and I have no idea what else it is capable of or how to program it ... The remote starter should be capable of doing door locks, however they would have to be wired into the car.
Depending on the make, model, and year of the car, relays may be required. If you can get the model number off the remote starter, I can get you a manual, and I will need your email address.

hey stugari, you seem to have all the manuals which is awesome. I am having issues getting my car to start up. Replaced the starter, the battery is good and the connections to the starter are good. Now I am thinking it's the ignition switch or a connection between that and the starter. But someone installed a CS 1600 in the car before I bought it. I need to take remote off of passive mode to active mode, and how to sync the 2nd remote.
We purchased this a few years ago, and just had it 'reinstalled' due to some wireing issues, but our second remote does not work now. And the passive mode is quite irritating.

I have a command start remote starter given to me by my friend, I want to install it to my '92 Acura Integra but I don't have the installation manual and I don't know what model is the command start that he gave to me because the serial code at the remote is already faded and there's nothing written at the module box that says what model it is...

There is a sensor under the hood tied to the heater hose or top rad hose. Should have 2 wires (red or yellow).
Cut one of the wires. This should stop the cold start feature all together.

Looking for an installation manual for a 290i-C. Unit appears to be totally dead, LED doesn't light up, no parking light flashes, doors don't unlock. Battery in remote is good and beeps when pressing buttons. Its was installed in 98 on a Ford Contour and worked up until a month ago. I found the over ride switch under the dash but doesn't make a difference off or on.

Is there anyone who can help me? I bought a Ford F150 with a CS-290i already installed. Problem is, it interferes with the door locks. I replaced the door lock motors and put the fuse in. The door locks work. Start the truck, they work. Put it in drive, they work. Start driving, they quit. Feel the door lock motors and they are very hot (stuck on). Pull the fuse (this is fuse box under the hood) and put it back in, they work again until I drive again. I have no CS fobs so I'm going to remove the unit. I need a diagram for a Command Start 290i so I can remove it without killing my truck. Any help will be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks
