i was crusin last night and had a little run in with a 99 or so eclipse gsx. he completely embarrased me, i took him off the line for about a half car lenght then he burned past me with no problem at all then proceded the humiliation by raping my ass by at least 6 car lengths. i noticed he had no plate too. younger fellow. HE ON HERE? looked stock with a fmic. musta be modded.
looked like this but silver
NO Plate?? and driving? and you didn't call Police? :eek:

why would i call the police? maybe he just imported or something. its not illegal to drive wo a plate. insurance is a must tho i know that.

If the car was just purchased and you were driving it home, I'm sure the cops would show some leniency if you had insurance. The right way to do it would be to go to the registry and buy an in-transit pass though.

actually you can drive without a plate...if you're waitin for a custom plate to get here. but they give you a sticker to put in your back window till the plate gets here.

Sounds like a good race, eclipses don't have front mounts stock tho so it does sound modded.

You don't need a plate on the car in between importation process, even if importing from the states. If you get pulled over, show the importation papers along with valid insurance and you're good to go.
To get a plate, you need to have registration. To get registration you have to complete the provincial inspection. To get provincial inspection, you have to pass the transport canada (canadian tire) inspection. To get inspected at canadian tire, you need the import papers from the government (or RIV).
The whole process takes 1-3 months, during that time you just need insurance and the papers to prove that you're in the middle of an import. Free parking!
