DC released the production version of the truck a few days ago. I can't wait for this thing to hit the showrooms, damn that is one mean truck. the 24's didn't make it to production but in their place are some 22's which arn't half bad. And yes, both the hood scoop and spoiler are functional.

Same motor and tranny as the viper. Dyno graph: http://forums.beyond.ca/showthread.php?s=&threadid=10464
It's supposed to do 13 sec. 1/4 mile passes and almost 70mph through a slalom but i'm sure we'll find out more once the mags get a hold of it. Still no word on pricing tho

All I can say is that I hope it convinces Chevy to step up to the plate.

Syclones and Typhoons had a single turbo 4.3 V6 .

yup, but the TT trailblazer concept came with a 400 hp TT 4.2 inline six with AWD, so i imagine that would be the new weapon of choice :burnout:

If your talking compact and midsize yes, but this is the battle of the fullsizes, and 400hp won't get you very far at all. GM doesn't really have a motor to play in this league yet, their SS with awd is only putting out ~345hp or so which isn't even in the same ball park. If GM were to do anything I would hope that it would involve their 8.0?L big block. It already has 450+ ft/lbs of tq and with some different heads and minor tuning it could easily reach 500/500 without even breaking a sweat.

I am hoping for a regular cab SS AWD 6.0 liter with roots SC thrown in for fun.

That would do it.

The new lightning is gonna weight at least 500 lbs less than the srt-10, have an independant rear suspension and cost a whole lot less. Hopefully they'll drop the 22's though.
Also, both trucks have 6 speeds :D

The 00+ lightnings were quicker than the typhoons. Consistently quicker than the syclones.

Not to sure how they're gonna keep it under 4500lbs, it is still a fullsize truck. Cost hasn't been released for either truck yet, there seems to be a lot of BS flying around that the SRT is going to break the bank, well I find that hard to believe when DC's orginal goal with this truck was to price it close with the L. But this is all pointless until it hits showrooms and we start getting real world numbers from both trucks.

Is that Dodge AWD, because I was watching a Motoring episode, were they tested the first Dodge Truck with the Viper motor and it had big problems getting tration and holding it, if it was AWD, that truck would kick some ass!!!
