Does anyone here have a good 240sx engine for sale? It's for a 1990.

I just want the stock engine that comes with the car. I do not know anything about it as it is not mine, i'm helping a friend locate one. I do know that its a 1990, and I believe these were the SOHCs.

early 1990's had the SOHC while late 1990's had teh DOHC. Easiest way to tell is to look at the valve cover, if it's black with some small fins SOHC, if smooth and well says Twin Cam then you guessed it its the DOHC. I may be selling my DOHC during the winter if he can wait...

Does he have to change anything or is the engine a direct drop in affair?

If not, he'd rather just swap and go. He's not into this stuff.

How much should he expect to pay for a KA24e? or KA24de?

The only price i've received so far is $500 from someone selling a SOHC. Is that the market price?

Two sticks not always better then one, :) if you read on the forums, I think they got some pretty nasty SOHC motors going at it :D

Just for the motor? Unless its got uber low kms thats pretty high of a price. Look some where closer to $200 for the SOHC

If he just wants a simple "swap" then stick with the SOHC, eventhough the DOHC engine wouldnt be to hard to do there is some things that need moving and you'd need a new harness etc.

EDIT: Heres a thread where there was a disscussion of a fair price for the motors.KA Sellin (http://forums.beyond.ca/showthread.php?s=&threadid=94685)

to swap dohc you need ecu, harness and the dohc powersteering lines and thats all... check n-e-c-c also there might be some for sale on there.
