he probably means that the car hit the lamp post.
I saw that last nite but I didn't really look closely since I was on the other side of memorial.

BTW, did anyone see that burning car at Memorial Southbound near the Zoo on Friday?

I was roaring down memorial E and saw the firetrucks and stuff on the other side so I booked it and went under memorial Via Barlow and then pulled over ahead of the accident and ran to half way up the hill and snapped some pics.

CITYBEAT - CITY OF CALGARY PRESS RELEASE
-----------------------------------------------------------------

AT 1:23 AM Calgary EMS responded with CFD to a single vehicle
motor vehicle crash at Memorial Drive near Deerfoot Trail.


Calgary Police Service members witnessed a vehicle lose
control and strike the concrete barrier and then a light
standard. The vehicle sustained major damage and injured the
3 occupants.

Firefighters worked to extricate the patients while
paramedics treated the patients.

Patient One: the driver was a 22 year old male. He suffered
only minor injuries and was transported to Foothills Hospital
in stable condition.

Patient Two: the 26-year-old front seat passenger suffered
facial and spinal injuries. He was transported in stable
condition to Foothills.

Patient Three: the 21-year-old passenger from the rear seat.
He was trapped in the vehicle and was extricated by
firefighters. He sustained minor leg injuries and possible
spinal injuries. He was also transported in stable condition
to Foothills Hospital.

Remarkably none of the injuries are life threatening. The
Calgary Police Service is investigating and they will release
further details.
