That poor, poor e-type....

I do love the Ford Falcon though. When I was in NZ a couple years ago, I was passed by one with the V8 and a sweet sounding exhaust system. I tried to keep it in sight through some great twisties in a remote part of South Island, but it ran away from my Corolla like I was running on 2 cylinders...

I'd love one here - make mine with no wing, the supercharged 5 litre and a manual box, thank you very much.

thanks for the shots!

Didn't know of a bimg feature, ha - shal do from now on.. I'll go out stalking again for some nice examples - I know they're all so common here, thats why I walked away from most of the stock cars, unless they were clean (such as the HSV) or heavily modded (such as that supercharged white commodore with the 747 wing)

Have been looking for RX7's, and especially some older examples of Toyota's and Datuns - I have 3 snaps of a Datsun 1200 ute (1978 I think) with an SR20 and fuel cell in the bed.. Have to get those pics off a diff computer I have them on .. Looks /sick/..

Shal keep this thread active when I find certain cars here and there that look deserving =)

Anything you guys want me to keep an eye out for specifically?

B]

I saw a picture of this front bumper in a older volume european tuner magazine the other night wish i had a scanner but dont. but yah

http://members.shaw.ca/stickershop/MugenDelSol.jpg

The front on the civic looks like a mugen del sol.

Yeah I was thinking it might be Mugen on the front of that Civic.. Only reason I thought that is because of Forza lol - the kit looks the same.. Or black widow-esque, I just figured it looked sort've cool being such a rare site here.. Not alot of Honda's..

I'll be sure to snap some up close pics of type R's and stuff - see if I can get a few photo shoots going with a few guys I know here with Silvia's and Skylines and stuff - or some old school Datsuns ;)

Nothin' like poppin' the hood on a Datsun 1200 and seeing a 13B...

Not an aussi car ????? Say again. Im pretty sure the 1934 Coupe Utility originated in Australia. Sure some variations may come out somewhere but ute does originate from Australia even if it is just the name now :(

@Charon, that's a Toyota converted into a ute; that's why it's not an Aussie car. The ute is an Aussie concept of course.

@jdms13rhd, are those Rover rims on the Levin? (or is it a Soarer?) If so, how did you get them? They're 4x100, right?

jdms13rhd
11-14-2005, 11:51 PM
Yep Rover is right. 4x100 yes.

Ya I was just refering to Ute as Aussie term. No harm.

It had diffrent wheels on it before but this is actualy a buisness car for a company I work for www.worldcarlink.com and I drive it every day. Awsome for buisness cuz you never see a Levin look like this one. Rims were baught in wreakers in Japan for dirt cheap about 3 years ago. Im thinking of swaping in a 20V engine cuz the one in it now is geting tired but it will get somthing this winter. Prob just another GZE but MAP based for a few extra ponies!

Didnt Honda have somthing to do with Rover back then??????? I cant remember!

BTW I call it the Toyota El-Carolla

Rover had something with Honda - a lot actually. The alliance started in the early 80s when the 1980 Civic 4-dr was cloned to become the Triumph Acclaim.

When the angular Civic (pre-EF) came along, that one became the Rover 200 series. For the EF Civic generation, a variant called Honda Concerto was the basis for the 200/400. At the same time, the 1st Acura Legend (1986-90) became the 800 or Sterling 825/827 for the US. When the CD Accord came along, the Euro version of it (Ascot Innova) was cloned to become the Rover 600. This whole lot all died off when BMW purchased Rover.

For your El-Corolla, you should put the 20V in it. It's a screamer! BTW, was it coverted in Canada? It just looks wild!

Cool man thanks for the info^^^

The car was converted to pick up truck in JaPAN. I had nothing to do with it. Lon Hall baught it at a wreakers in Japan. They were going to crush it but he was like wait one second, he pulled out some cash and was like is this enough and they were like ummm sure. Prob just enough to take care of the tow truck and storge charges. HEHE. Then it was shipped to canada where it will spend the rest of its life ad a daily driver.

Ya 20V sounds good. My friend has done a couple of them and I love the sound. Also if it breaks you just get anohter one for like $450.00 There cheap here but just hard to find with full harnesses but I can get one no problem or just run some kind of a stand alone. We will see.

Thanks again!!!

Would love to see the car in person but I never go to Leth anyway...
Has anyone put the 20V in a Sprinter Carib? Now that would be a very interesting sleeper car.
