Hi guys,

I know there seems to be alot of weight training articles on how to add more excitement to a weight trainer's diet.

BUT, I think it would be good for people like me if we could all learn the "boring" meals first, if you know what I mean.

So what do you guys eat OFTEN that qualifies as healthy but boring?

Bulking? Boring? Hell no!!! Just stuff your face with everything in sight.

A clean bulk is a bit more lame...

cutting is where life REALLY sucks.

yeah, tuna gets pretty boring in sandwich form, you can only do so much with it before it gets gross

The point of my question is I'd like to learn the boring meals because its an excellent place to start considering that its probably alot healthier than I am eating now.

Boring breakfast that I use:

plain oatmeal, whey protien, banana and peanutbutter

Have 6 eggs instead of the protein powder and you've got a better meal!

I love eating eggs for breakfast, they're so damn good, eggs which a slice of cheese and ketchup in between two slices of bread!

My favorite breakfast recipes....

Protein Muffins

1 cup dry oatmeal
1 scoop whey protein in Vanilla flavour (no carb version)
1/2 c frozen berries or 1/2 banana
2 egg whites
1 tsp baking powder

Mix all together in a bowl and add a tiny bit of warm water just to make it into a batter.

Put into muffin tins & bake in the oven like muffins on 375 until tops are brown.

Protein Pancake

1 cup dry oatmeal
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
8 egg whites (or a small 250 ml carton of Simply Whites)

mix together then put in a frypan & make it into a pancake or you can scramble the mix up (tastes good cold or re-heated too!). When it's done I top it with a couple TBSP of sugar-free maple syrup & a couple Becel Butter Sprays (you can buy these in the butter aisle for about $3 a bottle... no cals!)

Chicken Shepherds Pie

4-6oz ground chicken breast, cooked
mix in 1/4c corn
add spices like garlic, pepper, onion powder, salt...whatever to taste and put them into an oven-safe dish
Top with 1c mashed potatoes

Bake in the oven on broil until tops of potatoes are golden brown. For extra protein, add in some cottage cheese with the chicken.

I have TONS of recipes, but these are my favorite so far.

I've always heard that heating whey protein damages it and thus protein cookies/muffins/pancakes/cakes/brownies etc. aren't that useful. Might be worth checking out.

Here's a Q and A that suggests that the exposure time to heat is a factor to how much protein gets denatured.

and here's another link that tries to explain the whole denaturing process, and what is meant by this:

a typical bb diet might look like this:

-12 egg whites
-1 packet of flavored oatmeal

-2 chicken breasts w/ 1 cup of rice and lots of soy sauce
-same^
-same but with baked potato instead of rice^
-back to the rice again^

train

-1 whole bag of flavored rice cakes

6-8L of water throughout the day.

I wouldn't bother removing the egg yolks, they have fat and cholesterol but they are also a great source of Lecithin which is a well known fat emulsifier that is used in chocolate.
