DON'T go to alberta wheel repair.....they fucked up mine and many others badly.....apparently "repaired to original appearance and finish" means somewhere in the ballpark of looking similar.....

Thats shitty man, I actually JUST got my wheel back from them, I'm partly PISSED as they said it would take 3-4 days, it then took them 8 DAMN DAYS, BUT, I checked out the wheel and I am very impressed, the wheel really does look brand new.

In Calgary Alberta wheel repair is the only place that I know of. I've spend a damn fortune there, and I have never had a rim come back the same color as when it went in. Also, they have always taken a long time when I have had to use them... but they pretty much own the calgary market.

I'm pretty sure there are a couple other places here, someone at work mentioned another place, I just can't remember the name, I'll try and find out.

Even though AWR did a good job fixing my wheel (then again there wasn't much to fix, and they took forever), I am pissed also for the fact that they redid the WHOLE wheel, when I didn't ask them to, so even though it looks like new, I'm pretty sure its gonna look completely different to the rest of them, so I'm not happy about that.

I wish mine would have taken 8 days!! I got told 3-4 aswell, it ended up being 2 1/2 MONTHS!! And 3 refinishes cause I wasn't happy, and its still off a bit!!! I'm still pissed every time I see my car with that rim on, its frustrating....

I am looking at getting a SET refinished thru AWR, and I'm not concerned about the amount of time (or money) they take to do it.

I don't have to worry about them matching 1 rim to my existing 3 because I am doing all 4 at once.

Basically I need a thorough cleaning (better than I can do with some Meguire's, a brush and a pressure washer), some oxidation removed from the lip and the bolts around the outer edge fixed.

How would you rate them STRICTLY on the quality of their work?

They do good work. I can't believe so many people have had trouble with them as i've done several wheels for myself and family and all have come out flawless. They also do tons of work for dealerships.

If you are doing all three and aren't anal about time, they will come out great. It's really simple - if they don't come out flawless, don't pay for them and don't accept them. People who complain take their wheels and say nothing to the owner about them.

They suck... but when it comes to bent rims, they are the only ones that have a lathe to re build them. They do good straighting work, but their refinishing process is a bit crappy. If all you need is a refinish call andre at mobile wheel repair specialists.. i get him to do lots of work for me now.. he will come to you to get the wheeels and drop it off later. There is also another new guy in town that just started doing mobil repairs... but they can only do minor scratches.. but great refinshing

I kinda figured they must be good, they were recommended by a local dealership, but I just thought I'd check out what people's opinions were who've used their services on the retail level.

Yes, I will be doing all 4 at once, and I don't need them back until March or April depending on weather, so time is not a concern for me. I have three other sets of Civic wheels I could run in the meantime if I was going to move the CR-X out of storage. I'm covered.

I am going over tomorrow after work to get an estimate on them and hopefully I will have some more responses on this thread to help me make up my mind (sorry to jack the thread, but why start a new one when this one was stagnant and was asking basically the same question I had? lol)

Care to elaborate? Evidence to support that statement?

My rims don't need repair, they aren't bent, I need refinishing... he sounds like exactly what I need! Who is he? Name? Phone number?

Rating on quality of work alone, 2/10....I can show you my rim to prove that point....The lip isn't shiny anymore, there's poor painting on the spokes, you can see masking build up all over......I can't believe they just do that and expect to keep a reputation. And no, I did not rush them, as shown above, I took off to Europe, gave them plenty of time to do 1 rim......I argued, and eventually got fed up....They claim to restore a rim to the original shape, and they did VERY poorly...I even left them a rim to compare, and they still couldn't get it right.....All that was wrong with my rim was some paint chipped off the spoke, because the rim got laid down face down on the road, so absolutely nothing but a refinish, and they fucked it hardcore..and all sando or whatever his name was would do is take $20 measly bucks off the job....I'm considering calling the other guy with the trailer, I hear he does good work, to redo it...

They (AWR) did a fantastic job on my rims. Can't even tell there was ever anything wrong with them. It did take them 3 weeks to get them done, but I am quite happy with the results and would go there again for sure.

Do either of you have any pics?

Sorry I'm being so anal, but I went to a lot of trouble to get these rims and i don't want anyone to fuck them up.

never use them call tunerworks and as mark zugee who they use, I had a volk wheel with a minor scuff on the edge of the lip and after three tries in the shop it came back looking like he took fucking sandpaper to my 3.5 inch lip. Biggest fucking crook ever, didnt even know their was a special finish on the lip you cant buff into. Have you ever seen some of the skids that work there. I ended up so frustated by it I ordered another wheel from japan!!!!! Santos is an idiot with no integrity. Worst buisness man I have ever dealt with. Oh yeah they had my wheel combined for o
