well, here it is.

Whoever said CBC is too poor for HD tv can now eat their words.

Beginning Nov 5

Only thing that sucks is that it's always the first game being shown in HD, so it will be mostly eastern teams, ie Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, so we'll be lucky to see any Flames games on CBC in HD.

Given that I was watching hockey games in HD already in 2001, it's about friggin time for CBC. They sure took their sweet time.

I don't think it was a question of money for the CBC considering they're run by the government. If they wanted to go HD they could have alot sooner but they don't run that station mainly for profit like other networks like TSN, Sportsnet, Fox Sports World so they probably had less incentive to go HD than anyone else.

I know, but in the flames games thread we were talking about CBC on HD and someone said that CBC is too poor for it or something to that effect.

CBC gets TONS of money from the gov't.

Ya, I dropped Shaw after ExpressVu got their HD PVR out. ExpressVu added another HD channel, RaptorTV HD. There's like 2 HD NBA games on a night. Awesome! Shaw haven't really added much HD content for quite some time.

ya it sucks big time :banghead: but at least on shaw we get OC in HD! :D
