Its has never gone below 84 and above 86 cents since september.. so you can expect the same thing. Looking at the past trends.. I would expect a lower cdn dollar thru november so I would just exchange your money now.

The best thing to do is to have a US account and stock up whenever the dollar is high, that way you dont have to worry :) Only thing is, alot of US accounts require 1000US min balance, but its worth it :)

That used to be the case. They deal isn't that great anymore.

In the 80s, when the dollar was where is it now, they did par.

You should have bought USD about a week ago, it was over .86 or $1.169

It is 1.1833 today or .84

It will only make a few bucks difference when you buy, but I don't think that the canadian dollar is going to go up very much.

It will likely go down a lot due to the political instability with the possible election coming in next few months. Probably why it is down a little today.

You don't need travelers cheques, waste of money and time. Just use your ATM card or Visa.

For example, I was just down their. When I withdrew $100 US. I was debited $123.00 Canadian from my bank. There are ATM machines everywhere in the casinos.

Only do that if you're out of cash. I hate using bank card in a unfamiliar terroritory. PIN get capture and you're screwed.

I would do cash advance off my credit card before I'll use my bank card.

LOL...most are too paranoid. I withdrew money every day when I was down there. Never had a problem.

No they aren't. Not only do you have to pay the exchance rate, you have to pay the service fee plus another fee to cash them down in the States and depending on who is doing it the rates can vary. Plus if you are left with cheques you have to pay double service fees to cash them back.

Just use your damn ATM card. Best way.

The point of the in room safe is so you dont have to worry about the maids... i am sure they dont give the maids the combo/key to the safes.

Just get travelers cheques and cash them as needed. Thats what I did when I was living down there for a couple months. It's also a good check to make sure you're not spending more than you should.
