whats wrong with my comp!!!

whenever i try to download something it will only go a bit and then stop then when i try to re download it will go a bit further then stop again, does anyone know whats wrong?

Scan for spyware using an updated definitions and Ad-Aware
Scan for viruses (www.trendmicro.com is free online)
Check to see if its only that one page or if other downloads complete...
