I was lookin to buy a new used car. Lookin at a for a honda around 12 000$. Saw a 98 civic si for 12000, nothin special, 62 000 km. There was also a 98 accord coupe, 133 000km, leather seats, tints, power everything, security system for 14 000, automatic though.

I am currently finishing up my degree so I won't have too much cash to spend on insurance/gas and all that jazz.

I figure if I wanted to get the civic, i would still need to put a deck, tinted windows, and rims on it which would prolly bring me up to around 2g anyways.

I'm curious to know what you guys have to say or if anyone has any other suggestions?

Thanks

I say rather then spending up to $12 000 for say a civic...spend a little less like around 6-8g's. You can still find a pretty decent civic for around that price.
With the remainder of the bling, use it towards insurance and other goodies you may want to add!

That's what i would do!

You can buy a pretty solid prelude for 12g.
12g for an Si is a bit much IMO.
Specially since they're so underpowered and overrated.
Like Mikey said, get a cheaper say integra, or even older Si, and spend the money you saved on bringing it up to your standards.

are you picky on price, year, km?

I'd rather get something newish and low kms, I don't know jack about doing repairs, nor do I have too much time to learn (although i would like to at some point).

I'd like something that I can rely on for atleast 2-3 years withought having too much work done, but still keeping it around 12 000. I would also like something that I can put some mods into later when I get some more money.

So 12g's is what you got for the car? If so, then you shouldn't spend all 12g's on just the car....gotta consider the most important things like registration and insurance. If you spend all you got, you wouldnt be able todrive it anyways.
Leave yourself a bit of extra bling just in case you need to do the minor repairs!

This car is still pretty good...comes with a nice set of rims. So you can scratch that off your list of mods!

I agree with Arian. You can get a 5th gen (97-01) Prelude for around 12G's now. You'd be WAY happier with that car than a civic or an accord.
