Did everyone see this? Flames win, but not without Phaneuf embarassing himself on national TV and taking an instigation penalty. Brilliant

I laughed pretty hard when that happened. The announcers all thought he initally tripped and lost his gloves and stick. :rofl:

There was actually a fight in the other corner, I saw Phanuef down with gloves off and I was like wtf... did the Vancouver bench jump him. Ruutu had already fought once, so he couldn't fight again. But yes, he's still the biggest bitch in the game. Phanuef is awesome, he played a really good game, he's a friggen monster.

That was friggin hilarious...the announcers were alughing their asses off......he had mad airtime haah :rofl: :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:

That play was by far the cheapest and most cowardly play I've seen this season in hockey.

1 - Ruutu clearly motions as if to start a fight with Phaneuf first.
2 - Phaneuf throws down the gloves
3 - Ruutu uses his stick and trips Phaneuf
4 - Ruutu turns around to his own bench thereby causing Phaneuf to get the instigator.
4 - Ruutu sends his equipment down the ice (not shown on the video but I saw it at the game)

The only thing positive about this play for the Canucks was that Ruutu and his cheap ass antics resulted in Vancouver going on a 5 vs 3 power play rather than a 5 vs 4.

Speaking of tonights rematch, where is it playing on TV? I know tsn/cbc etc isn't covering it.

Wow....didn't notice that either. I thought he just simply tripped himself up so I thought it was frickin hilarious when it happened!

I think Phaneuf will be seeking Ruutu out his first shift tonight after that.
