Hey guys, I don't usually post such usless threads, but I am at a bit of a crossroads. This is definately going to be the last winter I drive this Tercel. I just cant take it anymore. What I want is to import sumthin from japan that I can drive everyday with good reliability, sumthin that will be good in the winter so prob 4wd (or at least Fwd), and reasonably good on gas. And of course be able to keep me entertained in the winter (prob turbo). Also I'ts gotta be under $10k. I was originally thinking of sumthin like this originally:
http://forums.beyond.ca/showthread.php?s=&threadid=102172&highlight=Corolla
but found out that the supercharged engines arn't exactly the best in terms of reliabilty.
Of course I'm considering, the Pulsar GTiR,
http://www.importconcern.ca/stock/100147/
but that may be a little too much power. (Although it is currently at the top of the list)
Then there is the Toyota Starlet GT, I'm not famailiar with these at all. I'm not a big mazda fan and I'm not sure about those 323's cuz I dunno how to fix em, Celica GTfour is out of the question cuz my younger bro is getting one, and a Bluebird SSS is also out cuz my older bro has dibs. Evo's are probably out cuz of *cough crank walk *cough. And i just don't wanna be a DSM owner. Well what ya think?

get the pulsar and there is no such thing as too much power my friend.
The only thing i don't like about it is when u driving it in the highway cuz of the weight when a car passes u it tends to shake a bit but once u lower it i wouldn't see a problem

[i'd go WiT a SkYlInNE y0!...then you will be :bigpimp: , and get all the ass ].....please note use of [].....but honestly between the two you have chosen, i'd go with the GTiR

Yeah I liked the Levin, Subies give me an uneasy feeling... I donno why, it just seems that whenever simthin goes wrong on em, everythight goes wrong. As much as I love rotaries, I don't know the first thing to do to fix em, and apparently das milage isn't great either. Everybody likes the Pulsar huh? But arn't you guys worried about driving a 13 sec car in winter????

any more input about the GTI-R?
Does anyone know what tranny they use?

How well would they take to auto-x or snow racing?
