I just reinstalled Windows on my PC. Is there something I need to install to get my Shaw Cable to work properly. It worked fine before I reinstalled. I assume I have to change something in the "connections" tab in Internet Options? I'm on hold with Shaw and its killing me...

make sure you have a network card installed (drivers).

go into your device manager and make sure there are no X's or !'s on any of the hardware on your computer. Especially on your Network Adapters (as GoChris said)

Sorry, I think X's just mean that the adapter is disabled. Make sure there are no Yellow Exclamation Marks (!!!!)

Think I found the problem. Theres a big yellow ? and ! in front of the ethernet controller tab in the Device Manager. No driver installed. That should be the cause? I dont seem to have it on any of the Dell CDs so will I have any luck downloading it?

I can almost guarantee that you can find it on the Dell website, under support...

Just search for the drivers for your specific model.

If that doesn't work just google it, and you;ll probably get them

It was buried in the Dell Resource CD. I was being an idiot and trying to search for the file right on the CD, but it needed to be extracted to the HD. I figured it out tho and the internet is back!

Thanks all.
