She's here!

Just in time for the blizzard in Edmonton. Thank god for heated underground parking. The drive back downtown from sherwood park was amazing, even at low boost this thing is a rocket. Too bad it's got to sit for a month or two. My buddy and I had to push it out of the rail yard cause I was getting no grip with the 255 Kumhos on ice/snow. I've never seen such brakes on a car before. They seem to barely fit under the 17 inch wheels and have a total thickness of atleast 2 cm.

There's more pics at:

I'm one happy guy right now.

I'm everywhere... like I said, can't show it off on the street so the internet is the next best thing :D

I actually found this site from one of the videos you posted on rennlist.

Cool stuff. I'm coming up to Edmonton next month for a wedding, mind if I stop by and snap some pics of the car? I've never seen a real '88 Turbo S in person.

Didn't Rob drive a 88 Turbo S?

If I remember correctly, Rob's was a 89 Turbo... mechanically same as the 88 turbo S, but was designated the turbo. The 88 "turbo S" was a special edition car with originally with only 1 color/interior choice (Silver Rose), and production numbers of 1000 units worldwide. It had all the mechanical bits from the Rothman's Cup Cars. In 89 the normal turbo got everything the turbo S got except the special color/interior.

Porsche exceeded the 1000 unit production though later on in '88, as well as produced the Turbo S in the normal factory colors due to demand (apparantly, many people didn't like the Silver Rose color scheme). There's only about 300 Silver Rose Turbo S Limited Editions in north america... Pretty rare.

I think only 944 turbo owners really care about the significance of this car :D.

I do have to say that the interior is a little 80s. Burgundy/pink Plaid...

I think this one is only 1/11 in Canada. You're right Rage, seems like nobody other than 944 owners even knows about this edition.

Lookin' good! Nice choice to get the "S" car. Now get it out on the track!

I have an '88 S and an '89 turbo (S spec). Love those cars :)

I've always preferred the 944 look to any porsche out there...and to find out that it is so rare (1/11) just makes it that much better.

Conratulations!
