Stay away from the food court in MacHall. The food there is disgusting and I've tried absolutely every food vendor there. Oh and the people who work at the Starbucks in the Bookstore are incompetent. :thumbsdow That's the crappiest Starbucks in the city...they don't even take the Starbucks card.

I'm gonna be going back to UofC in Sept. Did two years there and this year I went to MRC to boost my GPA. After that another two years and I should be done and hopefully making the big bucks too!

also if you don't have enough money for tuition, fill out a student loan form, go to the office and tell them you are applying..they will defer your tuition and you don't hafta pay it until the end of the semester...haha.

My ex has a double degree in communicaton and political science still no job and it's been 2 years since she graduated. Her friends founds jobs working for the Canadian government but the pay is shits. Just saying if you want big buck you should go into something else unless you have the hook ups for a job after you graduate.

A degree doesn't guarantee big bucks. Even a useful degree like computer science doesn't guarantee big bucks anymore. Only guarantees to make big bucks is in the medical field and pimping.

how the hell did she get her degree if she doesn't have the math skills to operate a cash register?

im fairly good at math, got math 30 anyway, and thats good enough for me.

how the hell cant she get a job? she can do just about anything with her degree. read the handbook. child daycare to fireman, to advertising, to tv/radio, to just about anything thats not super specialized.

he types the occasional letter and runs various other office related tasks. 30$ an hour(overtime) isnt bad for stuffing envelopes though. could be worse.

True but don't you want a job that is exciting to wake up to? I totally love what I do. I am excited to go to work each day because of the challenges I face. I can't imagine doing something just for the money.

I am a systems developer. We write software to automate as much of our business as possible. My current project is a payroll system specifically developed for my company. We did this thing from scratch. My portion included online time management, vacation requests, year end (t4 stuff), profile management, and tax table updates each year. The web timesheet I developed is like the one the Replicon (http://www.replicon.com/) does.

A couple of years ago our company wanted to become a Telco. We wrote an OSS (Operational Support Sytem) that handles billing, online subscription to telephone features and online purchasing of VoD and digital cable packages. The front end is web based and we wrote a middle layer in Java that talks to the telephone switch and TV Server.

20 bucks an hour to stuff envelopes? Man where do I apply?
Well I'm in first year engineering at the U of C. I'm hoping to graduate with either a mech engg, or a comp engg degree, and hope it will give me a 6-7 figure salary. :D

That's what I'm doing. I held onto the fable that I might be able to get into the Faculty of Management or I guess its called the Haskayne School of Fucking Undergrads That Can't Get Into Management Over now but since they have an insane GPA of 3.5 to get in...not gonna happen. Plus I have a genuine interest in Econ...I actually watch CNBC. I dont know if I should have mentioned that......

Anyways, I plan on doing a joint Econ/Marketing degree when I go back to the U in Sept

There are 3 engineers discussing god. The first says god must be mech, because looking at all the muscles and bones and how they work together, it's obvious. The second says no way, god's elec. The nervous system shows it! The third eng disagrees and says god is civil. Who else would put a toxic pipeline through the middle of a recreational area?
