View Full Version : Help! I got the blue screen of death...

Ok here is my problem. I saved all my couisns wedding pictures from last night to my laptop. I go to turn on my laptop and i get the blue screen. I'm currently running windows xp pro and i'm trying to do a repair but it says I need an ADMINISTRATOR PASSWORD, does anyone have this??? or can anyone help me I need to get this pics!

when it asks for the password, just hit enter. As long as you didn't set a password, that should work.

once i do that this is what shows up:

C:/WINDOWS>.

I need to write in a command but I don't know what it is?

chkdsk /r

reboot.

probably due to a hard reboot/shut down which is common on laptops.

Your blue screen of death probably says something about missing some registry file, and then dumping memory to cache.

9/10 that solves the problem.

Ok after doing that this is what happend:

It gives me a volume serial number and says that the volume appears to be ina good condition....nothing really happened

what was the BSOD error?

stick in the xp disk and repair
