So far it has been Phaneuf, but our normal #1, Regehr missed most of the season so far. Hamrlik has been pretty good but expected better, Leopold has been slacking in the points department big time. And Ference is just a liability.

1. Phaneuf
2. Hamrlik
3. Warrener
4. Regehr

Regehr was born in Brazil, but he's a canadian citizen. He's probably the most solid. They started winning when he came back from his injury

Raz, your an ass clown.

Hammer has impressed me the most this year.

Dion right behind.

What happened to being straight and narrow?

The 3 and 4 line rules. Dion and Hammer for the win. I voted Dion, because he also shoots like a mother, and can do some good dancing around people for a 20 year old. Although Hamrlik can shoot too, as we've seen, we haven't seen enough of it. Nice that he likes to give it to Phaneuf though. And yes, Regehr is not very far behind either IMO.

Hamrlik and Phanuef hold down the offensive portion of the D very well and Regehr and Warrener hold down a pure defensive game. Leopold has disapointed me this year, he should be the combination between offensive D and pure D but he hasn't come out yet. Each player is particularly strong in their part on the team whcih is nice to see. All in all I would make the argument we have the strongest unit in the league. Bring on the Sens, I want to see top D versus top O!

It's also nice to see Hamrlik and Phanuef paired up. Hamrlik is a very similar player and the number one over all draft pick from 1995. I think Sutter plans to have Hamrlik show Phanuef how to play the game with his size and talent.

i think phaneuf has been the nicest suprise considering at first we werent quite sure what to expect from him offensive wise and it hink hes fit in perfectly offensively and defensively

:werd: I thought Phaneuf would end up being a 6th or 7th defenceman this year. Nice surprise. :goflames:

Phanuef is solid this year:goflames:

Regher has the experience, although Dion isn't too far behind

Regher: when he has a good name no one notices which is exactly his style, hes a good solid defenseman and since he's back theyre undefeated, 6 games now

Fawk...my vote is for Kiprusoff. The D has left him out to dry many times this season.

skill wise Regher is number one follow by Hamrlik who is underachieveing so far. Phaneuf is good but from time to time you can see him making rookie mistakes/ turnovers. With time and experience i'm sure he'll get better but i dont think he is as solid as Regher yet.

Can't forget Warrener.

Sure he's not a key goal scorer, but his key plays keep more goals out then the other D can put in.
