I've seen a few around. I like how it maintains its "rugged" character instead of joining the band wagon of SUV's built on car/van chassis. It was long overdue for redesign, the basic design of the 4runner hasn't changed much since 1990. The new ones need to grow on me still though.

And 2003 for the 4runner adds the availability of a V8 :D

I don't like how parts of the car are left unpainted. You think they'd at least paint the whole car for that price.

i think they are going for the more rugged look, appealing to the Off Roader and suc.....
I think the 4runners are awesome and as far as the v8, I wonder if TRD will come out with a supercharger for it...

Ah, I still prefer the gen1... and you can make any truck look badass, you all should know that... ok most trucks anyways. Until they come out with another version where the top comes off, I will stick to the 85-89 series personally. A V8 would be a nice improvement, but there are conversion kits to put just about any american engine into a 4runner, so you can have the best of worlds (anyone got a 400 sbc for sale cheap??)

What toyota should really do is offer a model without the damn IFS...

I think it depends on which model you get
