I'm looking for 225/45/17 tires, what are good prices?

Is 600 for a set of Falken Azenis, including mount and balance a good price? I dont' know anything about tire shopping!

Also this is just for my summer driving, but I don't really do anything crazy with my car!

yeah thats a very, very good price. Most 17" tires run around 200+ for anything decent. The cheapest i've seen any 17" tire (avid h4) was for $175 each

Thanks

Also tread-life is quite important as well.

Most tire places that I've been to has sold the Avid H4 for no more then 135.00 dollars.

none of the falken summer tires have that great of tread life...... if you want good tread life look into the kumho 712's.

If you aren't going to track or autoX your car they are not worth it. The treadlife is VERY minimal on those and as I remember you can rotate them even if you remount and balance.... look at the tread and you will see

Ok so what other tire should I look for, with decent grip, but good tire-wear?

Kuhmo Ecsta Supra 712s?

Anybody have experience with Continental ContiSport?

I think the 712's have "decent" grip and reasonable treadwear.
I bagged the crap out of mine all summer, plus 5 track days. I got about 6000km out of them doin that. Plus they are cheap.

There are better tires out there but you have to spend the money to get them.

Anybody have experience with Continental ContiSport? those were the oem tires that came with the 02 altima. i found that they were quite grippy at first, but after a season of hard driving, they are noticeably less grippy, even though the tread doesnt wear down that much.

i personally dont like them too much.

Dunlop FM 901's are pretty sweet, they sell for a decent summer performance tire price too :)
