I'm going down to Phoenix/Vegas from Dec 3-10 and my old digital camera gave up on me quite some time ago. It was an older Sony Cybershot 2.0MP camera and it served it's purpose but since it died I haven't had much use for a camera. Now I need one for this trip.

I'm looking at a Canon A410 and just wondering if anyone here has it or any idea if it's a good one. It's 3.2MP which I think would be fine for my purposes......I don't think I need a 5 or 6 MP camera. Is this a good camera or should I look at others. Also does Canon still make an Elph 3.0 MP version? I really like the size of the Elph

Can't go wrong with a Canon.

The Canon SD200 is the last Elph offered with 3.2 MP. You might still be able to find old stock at a good price.

I'd pick an Elph because its small size will give you reason to bring it with you everywhere. My Canon S230 (3.2 MP) is over 3 years old and still serves its purpose.

I'd really suggest going up to 4mp, just because the cost difference isn't going to be huge, and you'll have more chances to crop if your framing isn't perfect. Also lets you blow up to 8x10 easier.

Does anyone know where I can find the Canon SD200 in Calgary? I went to Future Shop today and they do have it on clearance but it's with a printer for $400. I just want the camera.

Amazon.com has it for $180US but only ships within the US. Any other local stores I could check out?

i suggest shelling out a few extra bucks and get somethign that will last you a while and serve its purpose very well... you dont realise you need higher quality pics until you need them, and by that time its too late

My suggestion.^^^

If you find a sd200 its gonna cost you probably ~$300 anyways

and the SD line cant be beat for compact point and shoots, i have a sd500 and i could not be happier with it (however i would like to purchase the external flash, not that the stock flash is weak, but bigger is better:P )
